On condition that the PC employed is sufficiently powerful, extensive circuit diagrams can be simulated with FluidSIM in real time.
The circuit shown here was simulated by FluidSIM on a current PC in real time, despite complex physical models (pressure increase, mass inertia, cylinder friction, leakage, switching times of valves). The Model for this circuit contains over 5200 variables, of which 1500 change continuously over time. For the simulation the integration processes employed must calculate 110 status variables (pressure, position, speed, etc.) with a relative and absolute accuracy to be maintained between 10-6 and 10-9. To do that, approx. 1.8 million equations must be evaluated every second of the simulation time. In addition approx. 80 switching operations (opening/closing of valves, cylinder end stops) occur every second in this example, so that the integrators must be stopped and reset.
